INSIDE THE ACADEMIES
MBA
Our MBA HS GUAA and UA Rise teams wrapped up their season in Hamilton, Ohio at the GUAA Finals. It was another successful season playing against the top competition across the country in front of countless successful college programs! Our 2027 class has been provided with over 75 opportunities to play at the next level.
Our MBA Class of 2027 teams combined for a winning record in the final event of their MBA careers. Thank you for all you gave to our program over the years and you will be missed!
MBA UA Rise 2028 had a fantastic weekend making a run to the Elite 8 and finishing 7th place out of 51 teams.
As one season ends a new one is set to begin with tryouts taking place this August. Looking forward to building off of this year and continuing to compete at the highest level!
MVA
What an exciting month of tryouts for MVA! We welcomed 400+ athletes to our Rise Academy and National Team tryouts and are thrilled to announce the formation of 20 teams for the upcoming season. Thank you to every athlete and family who joined us—we're excited to see what these athletes accomplish this year.
This year also marked a major milestone as we hosted our inaugural Boys Volleyball Tryouts. It was exciting to see so many athletes take advantage of this new opportunity, and we're looking forward to continuing to grow boys volleyball at MVA in the years ahead.
Still looking for a team? There's still another opportunity to join the MVA family! Regional team tryout information is included below. Regional teams are a great option for athletes looking to continue developing their skills, compete locally, and be part of a fun, competitive team environment.
Getting Ready for High School Tryouts? Tryouts are just around the corner! Our Last Chance Boot Camps and High Reps training sessions are the perfect way to shake off the rust, get quality touches, and build confidence before stepping into the gym. If you're looking for one final tune-up before the season begins, these sessions are for you.
Just Getting Started? It's never too early to fall in love with volleyball! We still have fun, age-appropriate camps available for younger and beginner athletes, designed to teach the fundamentals, build confidence, and create a positive first experience with the game.

WELLNESS CORNER:
Fuel for the Practice You're About to Have
Many athletes eat based on when they're hungry—not based on when they're about to train. Showing up to practice without enough fuel can lead to lower energy, reduced focus, slower reaction times, and a less productive workout.
Try eating a light snack that includes carbohydrates (your body's primary source of energy) and a small amount of protein about 60–90 minutes before practice. Great options include a banana with peanut butter, Greek yogurt with berries, applesauce and string cheese, or a granola bar. Think of food as fuel: the better you prepare your body before practice, the more you'll get out of every rep, drill, and game.
